//Hiya,
Last week I took some time out of work to visit Yorkshire with my family and, while I was there, me and my boyfriend decided to spend a day in York ❤
The house we were staying in had a massive mirror in the hallway and I could not resist taking a photo (this was actually in the evening after we returned from York. It was a very soggy and wet day and I needed a green tea to get warm!).
The night before we Googled bakeries and found this really nice one that sold really good looking pastries. We were hoping for a pain au chocolat but they had sold out when we arrived, as we never ended up getting there until 2pm (oops)…so we got a couple of tasty croissants and fresh orange juice ❤ (they were very good btw).
Then we headed to ‘Diagon Alley’…or at least the Alley that Diagon Alley is based on! It was BUSY, but very very cute. It has very old crickety houses like the one above and lots of shops dedicated to, you guessed it, Harry Potter. I made sure to grab a few post cards.
The funny thing is that I have no idea whether the Alley always has pumpkins, black cats, and broom sticks all over the place because of Harry Potter or because it happened to be Halloween?!? Does anyone know?
Either way, it was really fun visiting at halloween because it was very on theme lol.
The Alley also had this cute Bao Bun shop and…omg…it was too cute. Didn’t go in because the queue was literally taking up the whole street, but they looked delicious.
Finally, while we were walking about we came across an Italian restaurant that was in an old girls school building. It smelt so good when we were walking past that we decided to eat there and it was a great choice. The place was stunning and the food was SO SO good.
We ordered starters and mains. I had breaded Brie (below) and then risotto balls and Harrison had calamari and pork belly. It was insane how much they gave us as the starter was like a main course on its own. We were both rolling out of there we were that full (in the best way of course).
We then headed back to the house and spent the rest of the evening watching movies in bed. A day well spent…//
