Battersea Power Station Cocktails

Travel

Hey guys,

While I was in London over the weekend I visited the new and improved Battersea Power Station!

Like everyone else, I’ve been seeing people visiting Battersea Power Station all over social media so I was very curious to visit ~

This was so delicious

Battersea Power Station is now a modern shopping mall that cost over 9 billion pounds to create, funded by the Malaysian Royal Family. One of the main attractions there is the cocktail bar called ‘The Control Room’ which is in the exact location the old control room used to be with some of the old controls still in the background!

There is even a guide who will talk you through the history of the Power Station while you have a drink! Shout out to the barista Claudia who took this sweet photo of us ❤

The atmosphere in the Control Room was really calm and sophisticated. It felt late at night even thought it was 2pm in the afternoon ~

Obligatory group cocktail photo ❤

I highly recommend visiting Battersea is you find yourself in London and want something different to do that is not typically ‘touristy’. And make sure you visit the Control Room and say hi to Claudia 😉 x

Manchester

Travel

//Happy 1st of May everyone – I hope you’re all doing great 🙂

This weekend I celebrated my graduation for my Master of Arts degree (technically finished in 2020 but…Covid!) and to celebrate my and my boyfriend went up to Manchester City Centre and stayed in Manchesters most desirable hotel, The Midland.

Superior King Room

I came up on the train and got off at Oxford Road Station, which was only a 7min walk to the hotel. I grabbed a latte in Pret while I waited for my room to be prepared and just chilled out for half and hour enjoying watching the people go past the cafe window.

Loved this robe – kinda wanted to keep it

We stayed in a Superior King Room which came with extra space and complimentary bath robes and slippers! They also bought over a bottle of Prosecco to the room for me and my boyfriend to share and extra bath robes in case we needed them. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for me.

Yes, we did drink it all (plus other drinks)…

I’d also booked me and Harrison into a French Restaurant called ‘The Cote’ at 8:30pm, so once we’d settled into the room we set off to find it and enjoyed a nice walk through the city centre. It was a beautiful warm evening and the sun was setting. I enjoyed watching everyone heading out for the evening (Friday night) and seeing all the cool restaurants – there were endless ones to chose from…

Once we got to the restaurant, we both ordered French onion soup to start with a bottle of rose wine. I then ordered a mozzarella and caramelised onion tart and H ordered the pork belly with truffle chips to share. I couldn’t taste the pork because I’m veggie but H assured me it was insanely good! My favourite thing by far was the soup though – honestly it was out of this world!

Freshly made cocktails ❤

After dinner we decided to get drinks at the bar at our hotel as it was such a stunning bar and lobby it would have been a crime not to haha.

I genuinely think it’s the nicest hotel lobby I’ve ever stayed in anywhere – from the gorgeous pillars to the tree covered in lights growing in the bar, it was just stunning. It even smelled like perfume when you walked in! We ordered a daiquiri and a gin and tonic before heading back to our room for the night ❤

Couldn’t help it 😉

The next day we checked out at 11am and headed into the city for more food and some shopping before heading home. The weather was unusually sunny and warm and we had the best day exploring.

I had such a fantastic weekend I wish I could stay here every time I come to Manchester – I love love LOVE IT!//

Best wishes,

Eating Our Way Through Cyprus

Food, Travel

//Good afternoon everyone,

This is the final post from my trip to Cyprus a few weeks ago… I should have posted this sooner but I feel so busy at the moment. (Where has the time gone?!)

Anyways~ I think that we can all agree that one of the best things about going on holiday is trying new foods and just eating LOADS and loads. Well…it’s one of my fav things to do anyway 😉

Pina Colada for me EVEY time (…the cherry matches my nails…)

Well, that’s what we did while in Cyprus! We ate out pretty much everyday and had fresh salads, bread, cheese, pastas, fruits and even some FAB cocktails.

Our favourite bar to eat at was called ‘Restomar’ because it was right on the harbour, covered in fairy lights and served some of the freshest food and cocktails ever!

This was one of our starters ~ it’s a Russian dish but the name escapes me.

Funnily enough, I know I just said how great the restaurant was but this ended up being our least favourite thing we tried the whole time we were there. It’s sourdough rye bread with tomato, and it’s not necessary a bad dish, it just wasn’t suited to our palates at all…but everything else was amazing haha (looks pretty in the photo though!)

Also, bread to share is always a must ❤

Fours dips came with the bread and these included beetroot caviar and hummus but I genuinely can’t remember the others (my fault for writing this blog post so late…oops).

I also had a strawberry daiquiri one night and WOW, it was lush 😍.

One of the main meals we had at Restomar was a mushroom risotto and a mushroom carbonara ~

Both were very tasty. My carbonara initially came with pancetta cubes but because I’m vegetarian I asked for it without, and they did this for me no problem! I liked that because some restaurants will not let you do that I’ve found, but they were super nice about it and it was so delicious!

I don’t have photos of our other meals, but we also tried a steak ( well Harrison did not me), vegan sushi (very yum), and Nachos. Harrison actually said the steak was one of the best cooked steaks he’s ever had 🙂

I’m a big fan of this place, and I’m a big fan of Cyprus. I hope I get to come back soon. //

Thanks for reading,

Homemade Cocktails and Pizza

Food

Hello everybody, it’s been a hot minute!

On Saturday I visited a couple of friends and we had a fabulous evening of making our own cocktails and pizza!

We all bought our own mixers and cocktail ingredients and ended up with our own versions of various cocktails such as a daiquiri and a pornstar martini.

Honestly, quite successful over all haha! We had a few sad attempts because we were estimating the amounts of alcohol but we ended up with some delicious drinks ~ we even garnished the glasses with little bits of melon and strawberry for fun ❤

We also made our own pizza in the pizza oven my friend owns and OMG they were insanely tasty. Like REALLY good. I made mine with goats cheese, mozzarella, olives and mushrooms and it may not have looked the prettiest but it certainly tasted amazing (trust me!).

I was so excited to eat I had already taken a slice before I remembered to take a photo! x

And as if pizza isn’t filling enough…we also tucked in to a homemade cookie and caramel ice cream bake :D! We never managed to finish the entire thing though, but we certainly tried ~

I mean come ON! *-*
Three strawberry daiquiris to wash down that beauty of a dessert

Hope all your days are going well and you are all eating the most delicious food.

Visiting the Birmingham Sky Bar

Uncategorized

Hello and I hope you are having a wonderful December first! I haven’t posted much on here lately as England went into a second lockdown at the start of November and I didn’t want to post something just for the sake of posting, ya know?

Happily, that lockdown finishes TOMORROW (Dec 2nd) so I want to post a lot of Christmassy content this month (well at least I intend to…we’ll see haha).

BUT before I do that I want to write about last March when the literal last thing I did before the Rona took over was visit a sky bar in Birmingham!!

Food area of Selfridges

It was my friends idea as she’s lived in Birmingham for a couple years now and really recommend it for a fun evening…

Before we went we had a day shopping and eventually got tapas at a Spanish restaurant, which was incredibly divine. Of course we also had some cocktails 🍸

We headed up to the bar around 10:30pm and sat outside with a view of the city ~ inside they had a piano and places to dine and it was honestly just a really lovely place to go.

It’s weird that it’s March again in 3 months…this year has gone so fast because none of us have done anything!!! I hope 2021 brings back some normality and adventures.
